MyLac Project: My Live after the Crash

MyLAC is a project jointly conducted by the Vias Institute and FEVR (Federation Europeenne des Victimes de la Route) with the aim to better understand the range of consequences of road crashes for injured #RoadVictims. 

ITF – Speed and Crash Risk, 2018

The International Road Traffic and Accident Group (IRTAD) of the International Transport Forum (ITF/OECD) recently published a new Report “Speed and Crash Risk”, with the relevant contribution of NTUA.

The Report is aimed to analyze eleven cases from ten countries that have recently changed speed limits or introduced a large-scale automatic speed control.

ETSC – EU Funds for Road Safety in the Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027

The European Transport Safety Council (ETSC) has recently published a Position Paper titled "EU Funds for Road Safety in the Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027". The paper contains a series of recommendations for funding for road safety initiatives within the next long-term EU budget, known as the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF).

SaferAfrica mentioned within the EU Guide "Safer Roads for All"

On 20 February 2018, the European Commission has published the “Safer roads for all: the EU good practices Guide”. The guide has been realized by the DG Mobility and Transport and it represents an attempt to review all the European activities in the field of road safety. Furthermore, the Guide quotes SaferAfrica as one of the most important EU-funded projects in the field of Road Safety. 

 

Transport and Communications Bulletin for Asia and the Pacific, No. 87 "Transport and Sustainable Development Goals"

The Transport and Communications Bulletin for Asia and the Pacific is a peer-reviewed journal published once a year by the Transport Division (TD) of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP). The current issue focuses on the theme of “Transport and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”.

Road Safety Annual Report 2017

IRTAD (International Traffic Safety Data and Analysis Group) has realized the Road Safety Annual Report 2017 aimed to provide an overview of road safety performance for 2015 in 40 countries, adding also some preliminary data of 2016 and detailed reports for each involved country. Furthermore, the Report includes cross country comparisons using key safety indicators.

These indicators include detailed analysis by road user, age group and type of road. Indeed the Report describes the crash data collection process in IRTAD countries, the road safety strategies and targets in place, and information on recent trends in speeding, drink-driving and other aspects of road user behavior.

United Nations Secretary General Report "Improving global road safety” - August 2017

On the 24th August 2017 in New York, the Secretary General of the United Nations presented to the General Assembly the Report on road safety: “Improving global road safety”.The SaferAfrica Project is mentioned within the “Road Safety Management” section of the Report.
