Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, recently started to develop its road network with a series of projects underway.
Thus, in the last six months the city authorities have pushed ahead with works aimed to create more than 385 km of new roads. The budget for these road development works is about US$231 million, including building new links and the maintenance of existing roads.
Part of these works have been devised by the Addis Ababa City Roads Authority (AACRA). Considering that the development of the city’s roads represents a high priority for the public authorities, for 2018, they have allocated 15.5% of the total budget to road development work.
