The Inception Report is aimed to provide a primary input in facilitating discussions between the teams conducting road safety management capacity reviews on behalf of the SaferAfrica project and senior officials in Cameroon dealing with road transport matters in general and road safety in particular.
In general, this report reflects the current understanding of the capacity review team of the general road safety situation in Cameroon. Thus, the Country is facing many issues in the field of road safety.
For instance, males are at an increased risk of road traffic accidents compared to females (Jolion McGreevy et al., 2014) and according to the same source, drinking and driving are a major problem after dark.
