03/10/2017 - SaferAfrica Project mentioned on the UN SG Report on Road Safety

On the 24th August 2017 in New York, the Secretary General of the United Nations presented to the General Assembly the Report on road safety: “Improving global road safety”.

The Report, prepared by the World Health Organization in cooperation with the United Nations regional commissions and other partners of the United Nations Road Safety Collaboration, provides an overview on the activities undertaken and the achievements attained by the global road safety community.

Among these activities, the SaferAfrica Project is mentioned within the “Road Safety Management” section of the Report: “the three-year SaferAfrica project, started in 2016 with funding from the European Union, gathers 16 partners from Europe and Africa, including the International Road Federation and the Belgian Road Safety Institute, to provide recommendations to update the African Road Safety Action Plan and the African Road Safety Charter, as well as to foster the adoption of specific initiatives”.
