On 26-28 October 2017, the third edition of the African Road Safety Forum (FASeR) was held in Ouagadougou. Several industry experts gathered for two days at Sopatel Silmandé Hotel to discuss safety issues and the growing rate of traffic related deaths each year.

SafetyCube Decision Support System Launch

The SafetyCube - European Road Safety Decision Support System (DSS) was officially launched on 5 October 2017. SafetyCube is a collaborative research project with 17 partner institutions, funded by the European Commission under Horizon 2020, the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation.

SaferAfrica Project mentioned on the UN SG Report on Road Safety

On the 24th August 2017 in New York, the Secretary General of the United Nations presented to the General Assembly the Report on road safety: the SaferAfrica Project is mentioned within the “Road Safety Management” section


FIA (Federation Internationale de l’automobile) is launching the initiative #PARKYOURPHONE aiming to combat the use of smartphones in traffic.
