“Road traffic injuries claim more than 1.2 million lives each year and have a huge impact on health and development” (Global Status Report on Road Safety 2015 of WHO).
According to the WHO data, the road traffic injuries in Africa they have suffered a deterioration: from 24.1 fatalities per 100,000 populations in 2010 to 26.6 fatalities per 100,000 in 2013.
In this context, the Deliverable 3.1 "Assessment of the Action Plan and of regional instruments" is aimed to define some specific initiatives for different topics designed to foster the implementation of the Action Plan. The analysis contained within the Deliverable has been realized at different spatial levels, country, corridor and continental levels.
